After a beautiful hike to the end of the main canyon (in 35-degree heat in the morning and now at the snow line), I returned to find that the river I had crossed on the way had doubled in size due to the glaciers higher up unable to withstand the sun. So, I took off my shoes and waded through, encouraged by two enthusiastic shouting Russians who thought it was taking too long and then wanted to take a picture with me.
