- Gulbene-Alūksne narrow-gauge railway terminus and displays — the historic rail connection that shaped the town; even if you don’t ride a heritage train, the station area and occasional exhibits tell the industrial/transport story of the region.
- Cemetery Hill and local memorials — an unexpectedly interesting spot for history nerds: older gravestones, wartime memorials and a viewpoint that help explain the town’s layered past.
