Most online blurbs sell Parki Beach as some untouched paradise; the surprise is that it’s actually more of a low-key local hangout where you’ll share the sand with families, plastic wrappers, and the occasional cow. Parki Beach sits near Chittagong, on the Karnaphuli River estuary facing the Bay of Bengal in southeastern Bangladesh. For backpackers, it’s cheap, easy-ish to reach by road from the city, and has a relaxed, slightly scruffy vibe with basic food stalls and a few budget stays rather than polished resorts. The water is murky and currents can be sketchy, so it’s more for paddling and people-watching than real swimming, and there’s no meaningful surf, diving, or snorkeling.
