Everyone shows up to Grote Knip expecting a private desktop wallpaper; in reality, you’re sharing that turquoise with half of Curaçao on weekends. This small cove on the island’s quieter western side (near Westpunt) is gorgeous, yes, but it’s not some secret lagoon only you and Instagram know about. For backpackers, it’s a high-reward, medium-hassle stop: the water is absurdly clear, the sand is clean, and the cliff-top viewpoint makes your camera feel smug. Swimming is easy, calm, and shallow near shore, with decent snorkel potential along the rocky edges, but it’s not a surf spot and serious divers will be happier at Playa Lagun or Playa Kalki.
