The thing nobody tells you about Magazine Beach is that it’s one of the easiest “last‑day” beaches on earth: you can be in the water and still realistically make your flight, because it sits on Grenada’s southwest coast just a short hop from the airport and a quick drive from Grand Anse. For backpackers, it’s the calmer, more grown-up cousin of Grand Anse: usually cleaner, less chaotic, and framed by rocky headlands that make it feel semi‑tucked away without being remote. The water is clear and usually gentle, better for lazy swims and casual snorkeling than for any kind of surf heroics. You’ll get some reefy patches with fish, not world‑class diving.
