- Heather-swept heathland — Les Landes is the largest stretch of coastal heath in Jersey: wide, open ground of heather and gorse that changes colour through the seasons and feels miles from anything. Great for long, quiet walks and spotting small mammals and insects that love this habitat.
- St Ouen’s Bay and dunes — sweeping sandy beaches and rolling dunes on the park’s western edge. Bring windproof layers; the light and surf make for dramatic views and excellent sunset photography without the crowds.
- Coastal clifftop walks (part of the Jersey Coastal Path) — simple paths along the cliff edge give big vistas across the Channel and neat little micro-adventures: short scrambles, gull colonies, and that satisfying mix of sea air and open sky.

- Rock pools and intertidal life — the shoreline around Les Landes has rich rock pools at low tide. Spend an hour poking under stones for crabs, anemones and small fish—easy entertainment and a great lesson in tidal ecosystems.
- Birdwatching and butterflies — open heath and coastal scrub attract skylarks, stonechats and migratory waders in season; the warmer months bring a tidy variety of butterflies. Bring binoculars and a patient pair of eyes.
- Seasonal wildflowers — late spring to summer the heath blooms with wildflowers and low-growing orchids in sheltered patches. Not a floral explosion like some places, but quietly beautiful and worth timing a visit for.
- Wartime ruins and landscape history — scattered along the coast are surviving German wartime bunkers and emplacements. They add an unexpected historical layer to hikes and make good, moody photo subjects if you like a little history with your fresh air.
