- Ajloun Castle (Qal’at al-ʿAjloun): A compact, atmospheric 12th-century Ayyubid fortress with thick stone walls, narrow staircases and battlements you can actually climb. It’s the historical heart of the trail — great for poking into towers and imagining the medieval lookout life.
- Ridgeline Panoramas (personal favorite): The ridgeline views across the Jordan Valley and the patchwork of olive terraces are the kind of vistas that make you stop for longer than you planned. Sunrise or sunset here gives warm light, distant ridges and real depth — simple, unforgettable scenery.
- Oak and Mediterranean Woodlands of Ajloun Forest Reserve: A surprising green pocket in northern Jordan: shady oaks, strawberry trees and spring wildflowers. The smell of damp leaves and the cool understorey contrast sharply

- Oak and Mediterranean Woodlands of Ajloun Forest Reserve: A surprising green pocket in northern Jordan: shady oaks, strawberry trees and spring wildflowers. The smell of damp leaves and the cool understorey contrast sharply with the country’s desert image — hiking here feels lush and restful.
- Rural Villages and Terraced Olive Groves: Small villages dot the slopes with stone houses, terraced fields and century-old olive trees. Those terraces and local olive presses give the hike a hands-on cultural layer — you’ll see how people still work the land and can often buy fresh olive oil or tea from locals.
- Birds, Butterflies and Rock Wildlife: The area is a good stop for migrating raptors, small songbirds and colourful butterflies in season; keep an eye on rocky ledges for rock hyrax and other small mammals. It’s not a safari, but the wildlife adds unexpected life to the trail.
