- Līgatne Paper Mill complex (Līgatnes papīrfabrika) — Red-brick industrial architecture from the 19th-20th century that shaped the town. Parts of the mill are preserved as a museum/cultural space and there are cafés and converted spaces to poke around — useful for understanding why Līgatne exists.
- Historic wooden workers’ village — Rows of original wooden houses built for paper-mill workers give the town its character. Walking these streets is the best way to feel the social history of Līgatne: compact, authentic, and photogenic.
- Līgatne Manor Park (Līgatnes muižas parks) — A mellow, tree-filled park with ponds and manor-house remnants. Good for a picnic, a lazy stroll, and to see how the industrial and estate worlds once sat side-by-side here.
- Gauja River valley viewpoints and riverside walks — Short hikes and lookouts right in town where the Gauja carves its valley. Perfect for watching mist over the river in the morning or for a quiet riverside beer in summer.
- Līgatne Local History exhibits (town museum / info points) — Small but sharp displays and local stories about the paper mill, river trade, and daily life. You’ll leave knowing more about the town’s engine — its industry and people — than you would from just a photo stop.
- Līgatne Evangelical Lutheran Church — A modest parish church that anchors town life; worth dropping in to see local craftsmanship, hear the church bell, and catch small-town Latvian religious and community culture in action.
- Līgatne railway area and industrial heritage spots — The old station, tracks and remaining industrial installations tell the transport side of Līgatne’s story. Good for gritty photos and for understanding how the paper mill connected this place to the rest of Latvia.
