Most people sell the Mullerthal Trail as an easy fairy-tale stroll; the surprise is how physical it gets when you’re squeezing through rock slots with a full pack and climbing endless stone steps that feel more alpine than “Luxembourg cute.” The trail loops through the Mullerthal region in eastern Luxembourg, near Echternach, a quick bus ride from Luxembourg City, so getting to the start is almost laughably simple for how wild it feels underfoot. You move through sandstone gorges, dripping caves, dark crevices, and forest plateaus that suddenly open onto farm fields and church spires.
