- Coastal wildlife watching — Migratory and coastal birds, shore crabs and lizards are commonly seen here. The mix of desert and sea means sightings you won’t easily get at urban beaches — bring binoculars and a patient eye.
- Nighttime highlights
- Stargazing and Milky Way views — Far from city lights, the sky here goes dark fast. The peninsula offers uninterrupted horizons, so you can see the Milky Way and constellations in sharp detail — perfect for simple stargazing or astrophotography.
- Overnight beach camping — Remote, quiet and with the surf as a soundtrack, camping on the sand feels properly wild. There are no facilities, so it’s a true back-to-basics experience — pack water, shade and a good sleeping pad.
- Respectful turtle night observations — Turtles sometimes come ashore at night to nest. When permitted, guided or carefully controlled nighttime viewings are a rare and moving experience. Again: no lights, no flash, and follow local guidance.
- Night photography of headland silhouettes — Long exposures of the rocky peninsula against star trails or moonlight produce moody, cinematic images you won’t get during the day. Easy to set up and very rewarding.
- After-dark shoreline fishing — Locals and visitors sometimes fish from rocks and shallow flats at night when some species are more active. It’s a low-key way to experience the coast after sunset — bring your own gear and be mindful of tides and safety.
