- Iza River embankment and bridges — A short riverside walk gives nice views, local life, and simple photo ops. In spring and summer the banks are lively; in winter it’s quiet and introspective — either way it connects town and landscape.
- Historic churches in town (Orthodox and Roman Catholic) — Sighet’s churches are working places of worship with wood-carved iconostasis and local devotional style. Pop in during services or a quiet moment to see authentic religious culture and craftsmanship.
- Traditional Maramureș wooden houses and carved gates (urban examples) — You don’t have to go to an open-air museum to see the region’s woodwork: Sighet still has fine examples of carved gates and timber houses tucked in residential streets — good for a slow walk and photo hunt.
- Local cultural centre and temporary exhibitions — Small cultural centres and galleries rotate exhibits, film screenings and local-history displays. They’re where you catch contemporary Maramureș art, community projects, or talk to locals about events — useful for getting beyond the tourist script.
