Friendship Bay beach gives you a long, sheltered curve of sand with calm water and almost nobody on it, which is rare on the island of Bequia. It sits on the southeast coast of Bequia in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, over the hill from Port Elizabeth. The sand is clean, the setting is open and green, and on a clear morning you can see Mustique and Canouan across the water. Swimming is easy and the offshore reef is worth a snorkel. Surf is minimal. Nightlife is also minimal, and that’s fine, because Port Elizabeth handles it. The downside is a thin spread of places to eat and sleep, so plan your meals. Go early, since the light is softer and the shade is limited. It suits slow-paced travelers and reef-snorkelers. Party seekers will find it too quiet.
