- Jakab Palace / East Slovak Gallery — A pretty historic palace that hosts rotating art shows and parts of the city’s gallery collection. It’s quieter than the bigger museums and often has contemporary shows that give a fresh take on local culture.
- Kasárne/Kulturpark — Converted barracks turned cultural hub: galleries, indie cinemas, bars and events all under one roof. It’s the best place to catch the city’s contemporary arts scene and meet locals without the museum formality.
- Košice Zoo — Large, green and family-friendly, set on the city’s edge with varied animal enclosures and walking trails. If you need a break from streets and stone, this place lets you stretch legs and enjoy some nature without leaving the city limits.
- Botanical Garden of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University — Quiet, well-kept plant collections and themed gardens that make for a peaceful hour or two. Great for a low-key stroll, picnics, and spotting local plant species away from the tourist hustle.
