You have to choose: do you burn your legs dropping into Garni Gorge on foot, or stay up on the rim and just snap the postcard shot of the “Symphony of Stones” from above. That choice matters, because the gorge only really hits you when you’re down there, craning your neck at those basalt columns. Garni Gorge sits below the village of Garni, east of Yerevan in central Armenia, an easy marshrutka ride from the capital and a short walk from the Garni Temple.
