Ten years ago Jhenaidah felt like a sleepy junction town you passed through; now it’s a small, self-aware district hub where life still moves slowly but 4G towers and café lights have arrived. In southwest Bangladesh, between Kushtia and Jessore, it’s a low-key stop for backpackers who like real daily life more than big sights. You get riverside walks, a few mosques and memorials, cheap food, and curious locals, but almost no nightlife or hostel scene. It’s safer and calmer than Jessore, less charismatic than Kushtia, and you’ll likely be the only foreigner in town—which is both the charm and the challenge.
