Nieuwpoort beach looks like generic Belgian coast in photos, but here’s the twist: it’s one of the few North Sea spots where backpackers can actually mix decent sand time with real, cheap-ish marina-side snacks instead of just sad boardwalk fries. It sits on the West Flanders coast, between Ostend and the French border. As a backpacker stop, it’s…solid, not legendary. The beach is wide, clean, and good for swimming when the flags say yes, but the water is cold and brownish, so this is not your Mediterranean fantasy.
