- Surf the long beach break (Day) — Santa Teresa’s sandbar-packed coastline gives you a surprisingly long, peeling ride that works in lots of swell sizes, so beginners and seasoned surfers both find their spot. The lineup spreads out along a long stretch of sand instead of one crowded point, and the jungle-meets-ocean backdrop makes every session feel a little cinematic. Personal favorite: early-morning paddleouts here when the lineup is quiet and the light hits the water just right.
- Sunset at the rocky point and tide pools (Late day / Sunset) — Walk toward the rocky point as the tide falls; you get low, clear tide pools full of crabs and little reef fish, plus one of the best west-facing sunset vistas on the peninsula. Surfers against a glowing sky, pelicans doing their swoop—photography

Surfers against a glowing sky, pelicans doing their swoop—photography and quiet people-watching both win here.
- Hike into the nearby dry forest reserve (Day) — A short trip off the main strip drops you into a surprisingly wild, dry-forest ecosystem where trails lead to empty coves and you can spot coatis, white-faced monkeys and unique coastal birds. It’s a stark contrast to the surf town vibe and gives a real sense of why this peninsula is protected.
- Drop-in yoga and wellness shalas (Day / Early evening) — Yoga here is integrated with surf recovery: open-air shalas tucked into the jungle or right by the sand, sunrise and sunset classes, and occasional sound-healing sessions. It’s less polished retreat industry and more genuine, community-minded practice—great for stretching out tight shoulders after a long session in the surf.
- Low-key beach nights: bonfires, acoustic sets, and stargazing (Night) — Nightlife isn’t about big clubs; it’s about laid-back beach fires, impromptu acoustic music, and ridiculously clear skies for stargazing because there’s minimal light pollution. If you want lively late-night scenes you can find them, but the real charm is the easy, communal evenings on the sand.
