This is a wild, protected bay on the Akamas Peninsula in northwest Cyprus, where the sand belongs more to turtles than to sunbeds. For backpackers, that’s the charm and the catch. The scenery is big and raw, the water usually clear and swimmable but often wavy, with no real surf scene and only so-so snorkelling unless you push toward rockier corners.
