Paramali Beach is not the secret, empty paradise your friend’s 2014 blog promised; it’s a quiet, slightly scruffy stretch on Cyprus’s south coast between Limassol and Paphos, near the British bases and turtle-nesting zones. For backpackers, it’s low-key and cheap, with wild scenery, decent cleanliness, patchy shade, and usually light crowds compared with Kourion or Pissouri. Swimming is fine but can be choppy, better for kitesurf than lazy floats, and there’s zero snorkel charm. Access is via rough tracks, food options are limited, and you’ll likely sleep in a tent or basic apartment, not a beach bar fantasy.
