It’s a real-time travel back to antiquity (and yes, local legends about saints and buried treasure add to the vibe). My personal favorite — great for golden-hour photos without the Batumi crowds.

- Pine-grove beach walks and cycling toward Batumi — The stretch between Gonio and Batumi is lined with pine and low cliffs, quieter than the main city beach. Walk or rent a bike and you get shade, coastal scent, hidden little bays and uninterrupted sunset stretches—perfect for a slow afternoon.
- Moonlit fortress silhouette and low-key beach nights — Gonio doesn’t have a wild club scene; night here is about the fortress lit against the sky, informal fish grills, acoustic music from beach cafés and slow seaside walks. If you want relaxed, seaside company rather than neon and pounding bass, this is the place.
