- Ridge viewpoint (short but sharp hike for sunrise/sunset) — A steep little scramble up the ridge beside the beach drops you into an insane panorama of sea, islands and the bay below. It’s short, sweaty and worth it for sunrise or sunset photos that don’t look like a stock Hong Kong beach shot.
- Rocky headlands and tide-pool exploring — Unlike the flat, touristy stretches elsewhere, Clear Water Bay has craggy outcrops and little pools at low tide full of crabs, sea snails and brittle stars. It’s a mini coastal geology lesson with better views and no entry fee.
- Wave play: bodyboarding and skimboarding (seasonal) — When the swell comes in this bay makes for surprisingly good, punchy waves for bodyboarding and skimboarding close to shore — more fun than the usual flat Hong Kong sand-and-sun

- Wave play: bodyboarding and skimboarding (seasonal) — When the swell comes in this bay makes for surprisingly good, punchy waves for bodyboarding and skimboarding close to shore — more fun than the usual flat Hong Kong sand-and-sun routine. Check the surf that day and stick near the lifeguard zone.
- Beachside barbecues and the nearby seafood-village vibe — Public BBQ pits and a small cluster of local eateries nearby mean afternoons turn into communal cookouts and fresh seafood dinners. It’s less polished tourist stuff and more local weekend energy — cheap, smoky and satisfying.
- Evening calm: night photography, stargazing and fishing-pier scenes — The beach quiets down after dark and the horizon lights from fishing boats and the distant city make for nice long-exposure shots or relaxed stargazing on clear nights. People fish off the rocks and piers too, so it’s atmospheric rather than party-central.
