Yet another average holiday: flight ticket bought for correct day but incorrect year 🙈, so jumped in my 🚗, to get to the dolomites in time, picked a mountain pass but there was a gas leak discovered in the village so the only road was closed for 3 hours, made it just in time to our starting point to hike the same evening to our first mountain but arriving 3 minutes before dinner. The next day a glacier lake begged to be swum in. Though it turned out to be evil cold we still decided for a morning swim the next day as well. After another full day hiking we had planned an easier hike but the trail was closed and we ended up hiking for 9 hours. The only way to reach that hut was by a vertical drop decorated with ropes and steel cables, so I had to throw my vertigo into the dustbin. Arrived at the top they had built a mountain hut at 3.200m with a 360 panorama: the perfect place for a party, especially since the boss was gone that night. Crazily cool 7 day mountain hut trekking with two toppers!

Traveled route: Timmelsjoch, Pozza di Fassa, Rifugio Stella Alpina Spiz Piaz, Vajolet Towers, Rifugio Antermoia, Rifugio Sasso Piatto, Plattkofel, Langkofelhütte, Ütia Toni Demetz, Rifugio Capanna Piz Fassa, Piz Boè, Rifugio Fedaia, Rifugio Passo di S. Nicolo

Venice without tourists

While backpacking Slovenia i found out that Venice was just around the corner. Though it was hard to leave the rocky mountains and turquoise blue rivers behind for a few days, Venice without cruise ships was something i could not let pass by. Check o
