Most people online sell Lover’s Leap as a pure romance spot; the surprise is that, as a backpacker, it’s actually one of the rawest cliff-edge viewpoints in Jamaica where you can sit quietly without a party soundtrack. Perched on the south coast in St. Elizabeth, above Treasure Beach, it’s a sheer drop of about 1,700 feet straight to the sea, with a bar, a small museum, and a cross marking the edge. The view is outrageous and the photo potential is real, especially at sunset, but you’re paying a tourist-board style entry fee for what is basically one epic viewpoint and a tragic slave-era legend.
