- Biafo Glacier connects to the Hispar Glacier to form the longest glacial system outside the polar regions, popular with trekkers doing the multi-week Snow Lake traverse.
- Snow Lake is a vast, flat glacial basin at high altitude that feels closer to an ice cap than a mountain trail. Few trekkers make it this far, which keeps it quiet.
- Paiju Camp, my personal favorite, is the last proper vegetation before the glacier begins. There are actual trees, a rushing river, and a view of Trango Towers that makes it worth lingering a day before the ice starts.
