- Snorkeling at Balicasag and the nearby marine sanctuary — Daytime: world-class visibility, dense coral gardens and easy-to-spot sea turtles make this a standout trip from Panglao; the reef structure and huge schools of fish aren’t something you see off every beach. (Personal favorite — grab a morning boat, you’ll thank me.)
- Scuba diving the Panglao house reefs — day and night — Day: accessible shore dives with dramatic coral slopes and lots of macro life; Night: a completely different show — octopus, nudibranchs and sleeping parrotfish come out, so bookings for a night dive are well worth it if you’re into critters.

- Hinagdanan Cave and its emerald pool — Daytime: a compact, atmospheric cave with a ladder down to a clear freshwater pool and funky stalactites — it’s a very Panglao-specific contrast to the usual shoreline stuff and great if you want something non-beachy without a long trek.
- Early-morning dolphin watching and small-boat sea trips — Early morning: local skiffs head out at dawn and you often find playful dolphin pods working the channels around Panglao and the neighboring islets; it’s low-cost, soulful travel — bring motion-sickness meds just in case.
