- Rinka Waterfall — The showstopper at the head of the valley: a high, single-drop cascade that fills the amphitheatre of cliffs with spray and sound. It’s an easy-ish push from the trailhead, wildly photogenic at any time of day, and my personal favorite — the mist and echo make even a rainy hour feel epic.
- The glacial U-shaped valley and towering walls — Logar is a textbook glacial valley: wide, flat floor framed by sheer limestone walls. That enclosure gives the trail a dramatic, secret-garden feel you don’t get on a typical ridge walk — light, weather and shadows turn the whole place into a living landscape.

- Alpine meadows and working farms — Summer wildflowers, hayricks and little wooden farmsteads dot the valley. It’s a living cultural landscape: you’ll see seasonal grazing, hear cowbells, and often smell fresh hay or cheese — a nice contrast to purely “wild” mountain hikes.
- Riverside walking and swimming spots — The trail follows the clear mountain river for long stretches, with shallow pools and pebble beaches that beg for a cool dip in warm weather. The easy, flat sections make it a great mixed-ability hike and perfect for lingering with a packed lunch.
- Wildlife and raptors — Keep an eye and an ear out for marmots popping from rocks, chamois higher on the slopes, and birds of prey cruising the thermals. Encounters are usually subtle, but they add a proper alpine-wildlife vibe that lifts the hike above a typical day-walk.
