- Strunjan Cliff (Strunjanski klif) — Dramatic sea cliffs rising above the Adriatic with wide, uninterrupted views of the coast. Walk the cliff edge at golden hour for one of the best panoramas in Slovenia; the scale and drop make it a real “wow” moment. (Personal favorite — it never fails to shut up the noise in my head.)
- Traditional salt pans (Soline) — Small, traditional salt-evaporation basins tucked into the shore where you can see how local salt was — and still is — harvested. They’re great for close-up wildlife watching and lend a very human touch to the coastal landscape.

- Coastal hiking trails — A network of short to moderate trails that hug the shore and thread through scrub, Mediterranean bush, and cliff-top viewpoints. Perfect for half-day walks with frequent stopping points for photos, coffee or a swim.
- Strunjan Bay and pebble beaches — Quiet bays and small pebble beaches that feel more private than the busy tourist strips in Piran. Good for a relaxed swim, snorkeling off the rocks, or just reading under a pine tree.
- Wetlands and birdlife — Reedbeds and small marshes act as a stopover for migratory birds and support waders and passerines. Bring binoculars — in spring and autumn you’ll see a nice variety without trekking far.
- Mediterranean flora and orchids — A surprising diversity of coastal plants, including seasonal orchids and rare Mediterranean species. Spring brings color and bees; the botanically curious will enjoy the mix of garrigue and cliff-top plants.
- Rocky coves and sea-sculpted formations — Little coves, sea caves and eroded rock shapes along the shoreline make for interesting exploring and calm snorkeling spots. They’re compact but photogenic — bring water shoes.
