- Liseberg — Sweden’s classic amusement park: big rides, concerts in summer, and proper old-school fair atmosphere. Even if you skip the roller coasters, the gardens, seasonal markets and people-watching are worth the visit.
- Göteborgs konstmuseum & Götaplatsen — The museum houses strong Nordic collections and international masters, and it sits on Götaplatsen with the Poseidon statue and the city’s cultural pulse — cinema, theatre and festivals spill out from here.
- Feskekôrka (The Fish Church) — An iconic 19th-century market hall that looks like a church and smells like the sea in a good way. Great place to try fresh shrimp, shellfish or pick up local smoked fish straight from the vendors.
- Haga — One of the oldest neighborhoods: narrow cobbled streets, wooden houses, fika joints and second-hand

- Haga — One of the oldest neighborhoods: narrow cobbled streets, wooden houses, fika joints and second-hand shops. Sit down for a cinnamon bun at Café Husaren and soak in Gothenburg’s slower, cozy side.
- Gothenburg Botanical Garden (Botaniska Trädgården) — Huge and peaceful: rock gardens, greenhouses and seasonal rhododendron displays. Perfect for a budget-friendly half-day, picnic or escape from the city buzz.
- Skansen Kronan — A 17th-century hilltop fort with cannons and one of the best panoramic views over central Gothenburg. Short walk up, big payoff — especially at golden hour.
- Paddan boat tours — The classic canal-and-harbour boat ride that threads under locks and bridges and gives you a proper feel for Gothenburg’s waterways and port life. Short, informative and very photogenic.
- Röda Sten Konsthall — Contemporary art in a raw industrial boiler house under Älvsborgsbron with a gritty, local vibe. Exhibitions, events and a cliffside view of the shipping lane make it more than just a gallery.
- Gothenburg City Museum (Kronhuset) — Small but rich: exhibits on the city’s founding, ship models and everyday life, anchored by Kronhuset — one of Gothenburg’s oldest preserved buildings. Great context for wandering the streets afterwards.
- Volvo Museum — A look at the industrial backbone that shaped modern Gothenburg. Cars, trucks and design history laid out in a friendly, hands-on way — interesting even if you’re not a gearhead.
