Most blogs sell Dawan Beach as a wild, empty stretch; in reality, parts of it feel more like a lightly regulated water-park overflow than a castaway fantasy. Sitting in Kenting National Park at Taiwan’s southern tip, it’s cleaner than the main Kenting strip, with decent swimming and beginner-friendly surf but frequent closures and flags that kill spontaneity. Crowds spike on weekends, yet budget eats and hostels sit within walking distance.
