- Demirkazık Peak (personal favorite) — The iconic, pyramidal granite peak that draws climbers from all over; the approach offers dramatic ridgelines, exposed faces and a real sense of wilderness you don’t get near big tourist routes. If you like scrambling or serious alpine climbing, this is the mountain you remember.
- Aladağlar Ridge and Cirques — A jagged skyline of limestone spires and glacial bowls carved into dramatic amphitheaters; great for ridge hikes, sunrise photography, and feeling very small in a big place. The cirques hold snow late into summer and collect little turquoise tarns in sheltered spots.

- Çukurbağ Valley & Basecamp Areas — The common gateway for treks and climbs, with shepherd huts, camping terraces and the classic trail that threads through meadows, streams and towering walls. Easy to reach on foot and perfect for lazy afternoons between hikes.
- Alpine Lakes and Glacial Saddles — Small high-altitude lakes tucked into saddles and cirques; they’re stunning after rain or when the late snowmelt feeds them, and they make excellent day-hike goals without technical gear. Sit, eat, watch marmots (or pretend you spotted one).
- Kapuzbaşı Waterfalls (nearby highlight) — A set of impressive cascades on the park’s eastern edge; dramatic, especially after spring melt, and a nice contrast to the dry rock faces of the high peaks. A short detour from main trails but totally worth it for the sound and spray.
- Wildflower Meadows & Summer Yaylas — In summer the high pastures explode with wildflowers and shepherd life: grazing flocks, stone huts and seasonal cheese-making. Beautiful for low-effort walks and a good chance to meet locals selling fresh ayran or cheese.
- Birds and Mountain Wildlife — Keep an eye out for golden eagles, buzzards and the shy bezoar ibex on steep ledges; you might also spot foxes or hear wolves at dawn if you camp out. Wildlife encounters aren’t constant, but when they happen they stick with you.
