- Panoramic Viewpoints on the Fortress Hill — Climb the ridge for wide views over the reservoir, surrounding plains and the Amanos (Nur) foothills. Sunrise or sunset here is simple but satisfying — you see both the landscape and why the site was chosen defensively.
- Birdwatching and Wildlife — The mix of water and woodland attracts herons, kingfishers, various ducks and raptors, plus the usual mammals of the region like foxes and wild boar (best spotted quietly or at dusk). Bring binoculars — you’ll notice more life than you get from the car park.
- Spring Wildflowers and Aromatic Plants — If you visit in spring, the understory lights up with seasonal flowers and aromatic herbs (thyme, sage, etc.), which makes short walks extra pleasant and gives the park a wild, fragrant feel.
