- Birdlife and ephemeral waterholes — When rains fill pans and pools, the birdlife explodes: flamingos, pelicans, storks and lots of waders arrive by the thousands—plus raptors cruising the open sky. For birders, it’s a seasonal jackpot.
- Walking safaris and short trails — The landscape is gentle and ideal for guided walks that let you notice smaller things—tracks, insects, plants—and get closer to the rhythm of the place. Guides are essential for safety and for pointing out things you’d miss from a vehicle.
- Stargazing and solitude — Far from city lights, the pans offer phenomenal night skies and real quiet. Lay back after dinner and you’ll see the Milky Way like you rarely do; it’s one of the easiest ways to feel how remote this place really is.
