- Cahuita’s Coral Reef (snorkeling) — A protected fringing reef right off the sand, teeming with colorful fish, corals, rays and the occasional sea turtle. You can snorkel straight from several beaches, so it’s easy, cheap and unforgettable. (Personal favorite — the underwater life is the park’s best show.)
- Main Coastal Trail — A flat, easy path that hugs the shoreline and connects beaches, rocky points and tiny coves. It’s the top spot for relaxed hiking and constant wildlife viewing — monkeys in the trees, birds along the shore and lizards sunning on the rocks.
- Punta Cahuita — A rocky headland with dramatic surf, clear snorkeling channels and great vantage points. Walk out for tide-pool exploration, reef drops and some of the park’s best underwater visibility.
- Playa Blanca — A classic

- Playa Blanca — A classic Caribbean white-sand beach inside the park with calm, shallow water — perfect for sunbathing, easy swimming and launching a snorkel trip without a boat.
- Mangroves & lagoon areas — Quiet, brackish backwaters that attract crabs, herons, kingfishers and other shy birds. These spots show a very different, peaceful side of coastal Costa Rica and are great for slow, patient birding.
- Rainforest wildlife (howlers, sloths, coatis) — The coastal forest behind the beaches is small but lively: you’ll often hear howler monkeys before you see them, and sloths, iguanas and coatimundis are frequent sightings if you move slowly and keep your eyes up.
- Sunsets and coastal scenery — The park’s beaches and rocky points frame beautiful Caribbean sunsets and quiet, photogenic stretches of coastline — ideal for ending a day of hiking or snorkeling with a cold drink and no hurry.
