- Traditional pastures and shepherding landscapes — Open meadows dotted with old shepherd huts and dry-stone walls give the park a lived-in, pastoral feel. In summer you’ll see grazing cattle and seasonal haymaking; it’s a reminder this land is both wild and worked.
- Birds of prey and woodland wildlife — Keep an eye skyward for buzzards and kites, and scan the forest edges for roe deer, foxes and the smaller mammals. Birdwatching from the ridges at dawn or dusk is particularly rewarding.
- Marked hiking network and day-hike loops from Samobor — Trails of varying length and difficulty make the park excellent for single-day trips. Well-marked routes take you from town into the hills, so you can do a relaxed loop, a ridge walk or a steeper scramble without complicated logistics.
