Most people online sell Bellavista as a gentle birdwatcher’s stroll, but the reality is you’ll spend a lot of time grinding up slick, rooty mud that feels more like a jungle obstacle course than a nature walk. The Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve Trail sits off the old Nono–Tandayapa–Mindo road, northwest of Quito in Ecuador’s Andean cloud forest. It’s short to moderate in length, but the humidity and constant ups and downs make it feel tougher than the stats suggest.
