- Panoramic Mirador / Lookout Tower — A high viewpoint that often sits above or inside the clouds at sunrise, giving a surreal sea-of-clouds view over the Andean valleys. Great for photos, coffee breaks, and catching flocks moving through the canopy. (My personal favorite — nothing beats standing in the mist with birds calling below.)
- Hummingbird Garden and Feeders — Up-close, high-energy encounters with dozens of tiny, colorful hummingbirds at feeding stations. Fantastic for watching behavior, slow-shutter photos, and seeing species you’d otherwise miss on a fast walk.
- Moss-draped Old-growth Trails — Narrow paths through ancient cloud-forest trees thick with mosses, orchids and bromeliads. The lush, layered vegetation and twiggy epiphytes make it feel like a living, breathing cathedral

- Waterfalls and Misty Ravines — Short cascades and shaded gullies pop up along the trail, cooling the air and concentrating amphibians and insects. Good spots to rest, cool off, and listen — the soundtrack here is wet rocks and dripping leaves.
- World-class Birding & Mixed-Species Flocks — The trail is prime for guided birding: mixed flocks, colorful tanagers and understory specialists move through regularly. Even without a guide you’ll hear and often glimpse a surprising variety of species; dawn and dusk are the richest times.
