- Boardwalks across the mires — Long wooden pitkospuut (boardwalks) thread over wide bogs, giving you that classic Finnish “endless open space” feeling without getting your boots soaked. Great for sunset colors, late-summer cloudberries, and close views of sphagnum carpets and insect life.
- Ancient pine forest — Parts of Seitseminen still feel like primeval forest: gnarled, veteran pines, plenty of deadwood and mossy humps where fungi and lichens thrive. It’s slow-down hiking territory — the kind of place that makes you whisper.
- Marked hiking trail network — A good mix of short nature loops and longer day hikes, well marked and easy to follow; perfect for combining a bog boardwalk, a forest stretch and a lakeside walk in one outing. Trails are forgiving for budget hikers — no special gear

- Wetland birdlife — Expect cranes, various waterfowl and woodland species around the bog edges and ponds, especially at dawn and dusk. Bring binoculars and patience; the hides and quiet spots pay off.
- Small lakes and reflective shores — Scattered ponds and quiet lakes break up the forest-and-bog landscape, offering calm swimming spots, mirror-like photo ops and peaceful campsites if you’re wild-camping responsibly.
- Signs of bigger wildlife — Moose tracks, beaver gnawing and plenty of small mammal sign show the place is alive even when you don’t see animals. Dawn and dusk are your best bets for actual sightings.
- Visitor centre and interpretive trails — The park’s centre gives maps, seasonal tips and exhibits so you can pick the trails or bird hides that match your time and energy. Handy for first-timers and useful when the weather turns Finnish.
