- Tiilikkajärvi shoreline — a long, clear lake with sandy shores and shallow bays; great for a spontaneous swim, quiet paddles or just watching glassy reflections at sunrise and sunset.
- Esker ridges — narrow, spine-like ridges left by glaciers cut through the park; they give surprisingly good vantage points over the bogs and lake and feel a bit like hiking along a natural wall.
- Mires and peatlands with boardwalks — vast open bogs that you can cross without getting your boots sucked off thanks to pitkospuut (boardwalks); these areas have a stark, beautiful quiet and interesting bog plants.
- Birdwatching hotspots — the mix of shoreline, marsh and forest draws waterfowl, waders and passerines during migration; bring binoculars for ducks, wagtails and the odd raptor wheeling overhead.
- Well-marked

- Well-marked hiking trails — a range of routes from short nature loops to longer day hikes, all clearly signed; ideal for low-budget travellers who like to roam with a minimal pack and a thermos.
- Campfire sites and basic shelters — neat little places to make a fire, grill a meal and crash in a lean-to if you want to stretch a day into an overnight without paying for a hut or hotel.
- Seasonal moods: long summer days and vivid autumns — long daylight in summer makes late evening walks almost endless; in autumn the bogs and pines turn surprisingly colorful and photographic.
