Artists Alliance Gallery is best known for Omanye House, a multi-storey building packed floor to floor with Ghanaian paintings, carvings, beads and textiles. It stands in Accra, Ghana’s capital, on the Osu side near the Ringway Estates area. I still connect it with the soft tapping of a carver’s chisel drifting down a stairwell while a drummer tested a skin somewhere above. Prices are fixed here, so there is no haggling, and that is why you can browse without pressure; compare quality, then decide. Expect no crowds, just quiet rooms and the smell of wood and oil paint. Unlike the sprawling Arts Centre market, it is calm and curated.
