- Temple of Apollo — The heart of Delphi and the literal home of the Pythia (the oracle). Even in ruins the column drums, altar area and layout tell you why ancient Greeks considered this place the center of the world; the sense of sacred scale is immediate and uncanny.
- Sacred Way and the Treasuries (especially the Athenian Treasury) — Walk the route ancient pilgrims took, lined with stone bases where city-states displayed votive gifts. The small treasuries were like ancient showrooms for civic pride; the Athenian Treasury’s detailing and placement make the experience vivid and very photogenic.
- Ancient Theatre — Perched above the sanctuary with killer sightlines and acoustics that still work. Sit for a minute and imagine chorus voices echoing off the mountains; this one’s my personal favorite

- Stadium — Surprisingly well preserved and tucked higher up the slope, where athletes once competed during the Pythian Games. It’s small by modern standards but the long, thin stone track and the panorama behind it help you imagine the pageantry.
- Castalian Spring — The ritual purification spot where pilgrims washed before consulting the oracle. It’s a simple, leafy corner but knowing people came here seeking divine insight for centuries gives it a quiet, eerie power.
- Archaeological Museum of Delphi — Houses the finds that give the ruins their context: the Charioteer, friezes, kouroi and the famous sphinxes. If you want the backstory and the artistry, the museum pulls the whole site together in one compact, excellent collection.
- Setting on Mount Parnassus and the valley views — Delphi’s placement is everything: steep slopes, dramatic light, and a sweep down to the olive-studded valley and Gulf of Corinth. The landscape frames the ruins and explains why people once thought this was where gods and humans met.
