- Nagy-Milic (Nagy-Milik) Peak — The highest summit in the Zemplén, a compact volcanic dome with killer panoramic views over the Tokaj vineyards and the distant Carpathians. Short steep hikes lead to rocky viewpoints that are perfect for sunrise or a snack with a view.
- Füzér Castle — A dramatic hilltop fortress sitting on an exposed basalt outcrop. It’s been reconstructed enough to poke around safely, and the silhouette against the sky is one of the region’s most photogenic sights.
- Regéc Castle Ruins — Crumbling stone walls perched on a forested ridge; the climb up is a proper hike and the lookout rewards you with wide, lonely vistas. Popular with hikers who like a bit of history on the trail.
- Boldogkő Castle — One of the better-preserved medieval castles in the area, with revived courtyards

- Boldogkő Castle — One of the better-preserved medieval castles in the area, with revived courtyards and occasional local events. Easy to combine with nearby trails and a nice break from pure nature walks.
- Basalt Columns and Volcanic Formations — The Zemplén is volcanic, so expect columnar basalt outcrops, crags and odd rock shapes that give the landscape a rugged, otherworldly feel. Great for short scramble sections and geology nerding.
- Hollóháza and Porcelain Heritage — A small village famous for porcelain production and a museum/workshop where you can see traditional craftsmanship. It’s also a good jumping-off point for mellow forest walks.
- Mixed Beech-Oak Forests and Wildlife — Extensive, quiet woods rich in spring wildflowers, mushrooms and birdlife (raptors and woodpeckers show up often). Trails range from easy forest strolls to longer ridge hikes where you’ll likely see deer tracks and hear birds more than other people.
