- Bamu mountain ridge: A jagged, rocky backbone that defines the park — great for day-hikes and scrambling. The ridge gives you panoramic views over the lowland plain and the Persian Gulf on clear days, and the terrain changes quickly from scrubby slopes to steep cliffs.
- Seasonal gorges and wadis: Deep dry riverbeds that come alive after rain. Walk these to find cool pockets of shade, small pools, and dramatic canyon walls — they’re perfect for exploring on foot and make the landscape feel a lot wilder than the maps suggest.
- Wildlife watching (bezoar goats, leopards, hyenas): The park supports classic Iranian mountain species — wild (bezoar) goats on the cliffs, occasional records of Persian leopard in remote zones, and striped hyena at night. Sightings aren’t guaranteed, but dawn and dusk

Sightings aren’t guaranteed, but dawn and dusk stakeouts improve your odds.
- Raptor and birding hotspots: Thermals over the ridges attract eagles, buzzards and other raptors; migratory songbirds and resident scrub species also use the park’s oases and thorn-scrub. Bring binoculars and listen — birds are often easier to hear than see.
- Spring-fed valleys and hidden oases: Scattered springs form little green pockets amid otherwise dry hills. These are the best places for a late-afternoon rest, spotting wildlife coming to drink, and finding shade and cooler microclimates during hot months.
- Caves and limestone formations: Karst sections and caves break up the landscape and reward the curious. You’ll find interesting rock textures, small caverns to poke into (with a headlamp), and natural shelters that tell a lot about local geology.
- Sunset viewpoints and photographic ridgelines: Hike a short way up a ridge before evening and you’ll get brilliant light on the cliffs and valleys below — excellent for low-light landscape shots and simple, quiet sunset sessions without crowds.
