- Ancient beech stands — Dense, cool beech canopy that gives the park its name; walking under the tall, smooth-barked trees feels like stepping into a different climate and you’ll notice shade-loving plants and mossy logs that aren’t common in lowland Moldova.
- Mixed broadleaf biodiversity — Pockets of oak, hornbeam and maple mixed with beech create rich layers of life: spring wildflowers, a big variety of fungi in autumn, and a healthy understory that supports insects and small mammals.
- Hiking trails and ridge viewpoints — A network of mostly easy to moderate trails that climb to grassy ridges and clearings; great for short day hikes, sunset looks over rolling hills, and finding quiet spots away from the few busier entrances.
- Streams and springs — Small clear streams and natural springs

- Streams and springs — Small clear streams and natural springs thread the park, creating cool microhabitats where amphibians, dragonflies and moisture-loving plants concentrate — lovely places to rest with a packed lunch.
- Wildlife watching — Keep an ear out at dawn or dusk: roe deer and wild boar are common, foxes and badgers are present, and the trees host a variety of songbirds and raptors. Binoculars and quiet patience pay off.
- Seasonal mushrooms, berries and wildflowers — Late summer and autumn are prime for edible mushrooms and berries (follow local rules), while spring brings carpets of ephemeral flowers — small, simple pleasures that mark the seasons.
- Edge landscapes and nearby villages — The transition zones where forest meets meadows and farmland are surprisingly scenic; nearby villages offer a glimpse of rural Moldovan life and make for friendly, low-cost stops before or after a park hike.
