- Virpazar Pier (the harbor) — The real heartbeat of the town: boats leave from here for Skadar Lake, pelican-watching trips and island visits. Great for sunrise/sunset photos and watching fishermen bring in the day’s catch.
- Skadar Lake National Park Visitor Centre — Small but useful: maps, exhibits about the lake’s ecology, and local guides you can hire. Good first stop to plan a sensible (and cheap) day on the water.
- Lakeside promenade and fish restaurants — A short strip of waterfront taverns where you can eat grilled carp and fresh trout while staring at the reeds. It’s touristy but authentic in the best way—food, locals, and lake views.
- Crmnica river mouth and reedbeds — Where the Crmnica feeds into Skadar: a calm spot for birdwatching, close-up reed scenery, and quiet boat rides past

- Crmnica river mouth and reedbeds — Where the Crmnica feeds into Skadar: a calm spot for birdwatching, close-up reed scenery, and quiet boat rides past nesting pelicans and herons.
- Virpazar Bridge & panorama point — The small bridge over the river is a favoured local viewpoint for sweeping lake photos and quick sunset stops. You can stand on it, watch boat traffic and get an instant feel for the landscape.
- Old village centre and stone streets — Tiny alleys with old stone houses, a handful of cafes and bakeries, and the slow, lived-in feel of the place. Good for wandering, buying snacks, and people-watching without a press of tourists.
- Birdwatching hides and observation spots — Simple, accessible hides and shoreline viewpoints used by local guides; ideal for binoculars or a cheap camera—Skadar’s birdlife is the main draw here, and most hides are a short walk from the center.
- Kayak and small-boat rentals — Paddle straight from town into reed channels that larger boats can’t reach. It’s one of the best ways to experience the lake’s quiet corners and get close to waterfowl without paying for an organised tour.
- Local wine shops and tasting corners — Small shops and family-run spots in town selling Crmnica wines (Vranac and local blends). Tasting is informal and inexpensive—perfect if you want to try regional wine without joining a big winery tour.
- Seasonal fish/farmers’ market and home-cooking experiences — Depending on time of year you’ll find stalls with honey, cheese, vegetables and fish; some hosts will cook a meal if you ask. It’s how locals eat, and how you’ll learn how simple, good Montenegrin lakeside food really is.
