Efteling sits in Kaatsheuvel, North Brabant, in the south of the Netherlands, about 10 km from Tilburg. Crowds follow a pattern: Dutch school holidays and sunny weekends push waits past an hour at Baron 1898 and Python, while rainy weekdays in term time feel almost empty. A day ticket runs roughly €45 to 60, which is steep on a backpacking budget, but the theming is the point. Walk-through fairy tale forest scenes beat anything you’ll find at a thrill-only park.
