- Pico de Príncipe (the summit hike) — A steep, sweaty walk up into cloud forest that rewards you with dramatic volcanic ridges, misty valleys and views over the whole island and offshore islets. The trail goes through primary forest, so you often glimpse endemic birds and orchids along the way.
- Ilhéu Bom Bom — A tiny forested islet just off the east coast with clear snorkeling, reef life and easy boat access. It’s a great spot for sea turtles, colorful fish and short coastal hikes — perfect for combining a lazy beach swim with wildlife watching.
- Ilhéu Caroço (the steep seabird islet) — A dramatic, almost vertical volcanic stack rising from the sea. You can’t hike it, but boat approaches show off tens of meters of volcanic cliffs and nesting seabirds; it’s one of the most photogenic features

- Praia Banana and natural tide pools — A narrow, palm-fringed beach with calm turquoise water and rocky tidepools to explore. Snorkelers and casual hikers like it for easy sea access, beachside shade and the chance to see turtles coming ashore in season.
- Cloud-forest and endemic wildlife corridors — Much of the park is intact montane and lowland forest packed with species found nowhere else: little birds, butterflies and unusual plants. Guided walks here are the best way to spot endemics and hear the island’s unique soundscape.
- Roça Sundy and coastal plantation scenery — Old plantation ruins set among coconut palms and rainforest that give a sense of the island’s history while offering lovely coastal views. It’s an easy, atmospheric stop between beach and forest hikes.
- Sunset viewpoints and coastal boat trips — Short hikes to cliff viewpoints or quick charters around the island reveal dramatic sunsets, offshore rock formations and pods of passing dolphins. It’s simple but unforgettable: light, sea and volcanic shapes.
