- Volcanic rock pools and low-tide exploring — Praia Burra’s jagged lava outcrops carve little sheltered pools that are perfect for poking around at low tide; you’ll find small reef critters and weird coral shapes you won’t see from the open sand, so go when the water’s out and mind slippery rocks.
- Snorkel the boulder gardens — instead of a long coral reef, Burra has nearshore boulder and rock gardens where fish hang close to shore; the water is often clear enough for short, rewarding snorkel swims (bring your own mask and fins — rentals are scarce).
- Watch the local fishing landing — this is a working beach: fishermen hauling small boats and mending nets is a daily, un-staged scene that gives real insight into island life; best in the morning when boats come in and you can sometimes barter

- Short rainforest-to-beach hike and cliff viewpoints — a little trail through thick secondary forest drops you onto the sand and lets you pop up onto rocky headlands for dramatic views; the contrast of humid green jungle opening onto stark volcanic coast is what makes Burra feel special.
- Moonlit walks and stargazing (seasonal night life) — there’s no club scene here, just dark skies and the surf; after dark the beach is excellent for star fields, listening for nocturnal birds and crabs, and — during certain months — organized guided walks if seasonal turtle nesting is happening nearby.
