You have to choose on Skåneleden: commit to a multi-day thru-hike or cherry-pick a single section and leave the rest for “next time” (which many people never do). That choice matters, because this trail network sprawls across all of Skåne in southernmost Sweden, and it’s too big to “just wing it.” Skåneleden is a marked system of long-distance trails, hundreds of kilometers of orange waymarks through beech forests, coastal cliffs, farm tracks, and quiet fishing villages. It’s easy to reach sections by train or bus from Malmö, Lund, even Copenhagen, which makes it dangerously tempting to underestimate. Some stretches are flat and forgiving; others roll hard enough that your legs will complain by camp. Compared with classic Swedish routes like Kungsleden, Skåneleden is tamer in altitude but richer in variety—and more exposed to wind, mud, and civilization’s edges.

💡 HighlightsTop highlights of Skåneleden

  • Kullaberg Nature Reserve (Kullaleden) — Jagged sea cliffs, hidden caves and narrow footpaths that drop straight to the Kattegat; great for dramatic coastal views, seals on the rocks and a real sense of raw Atlantic weather you won’t get on inland trails.
