It sits right on Lake Zurich in the city of Zürich, eastern Switzerland, so you’re basically swimming with a skyline on one side and mountains in the distance. For backpackers, it’s a clean, easy win: the water is clear, the lawns are manicured, showers work, and you can walk or tram there from most hostels. The flip side is crowds on hot days, zero surf, and almost no sense of “raw nature” compared with quieter Swiss lakes like Zugersee or Walensee.
