In season you can also find crossings toward nearby Greek islands; don’t expect a timetable—go early, haggle a little, and bring cash and a towel.
- Sunset promenade and fresh-catch seafood — The seafront stroll comes alive at dusk: cheap, honest seafood places, meze plates, street vendors and a mellow crowd. No flashy clubs here—just friendly terraces, live acoustic sets some nights, and that unbeatable after-sun walk along the lights. (Personal favorite: this is how I like to end most Altınkum days.)
- Daytime rentals and moonlit swims — From pedalos and inflatable rides to parasailing and the occasional jet-ski, you’ll find easy, low-cost gear rental on the beach (check safety and prices). The other side of that same shallow shore is great for safe, spontaneous night swims or a starry walk in the sand when the crowds thin—very low-key and lovely.
