- Meandering Dniester River & sandbars — braided channels, gravel islands and seasonal sandbanks create constantly changing scenery. It’s great for low-effort exploration: wade onto a sandbar, picnic, or watch fishermen and waterfowl from a few metres away.
- Limestone cliffs and karst formations — exposed chalk and limestone create caves, grottoes and dramatic rock faces. The geology is visible and tactile here: fossils, sinkholes and pocketed walls give the canyon its rugged personality.

- Birdlife and raptor watching — the canyon is a magnet for fish-eating birds and soaring predators; look for white-tailed eagles, herons and kingfishers along the water, plus migrating flocks in spring and autumn. Binoculars pay off—early morning is best.
- Steppe slopes and wildflowers — the sun-baked terraces and cliffs host steppe grasses, orchids and a riot of spring blooms that attract butterflies. The contrast between bare rock, green forest and flowering steppe is surprisingly striking.
- Hiking paths and paddling routes — a mix of rim trails, short gorge walks and river trips lets you choose intensity: cliff-top day hikes for views or multi-day canoe/kayak stretches to feel the canyon from water level. Combine walking and paddling for the full experience.
